Gem Pack 5 Confirmed

Table of Contents

As a Gem store manager, making it rain Gem packs at the end of an Armory is one of my favourite things to do. With the next set coming so very soon, I was deeply concerned looking at my dwindling stock of Gem Packs 3 and 4. Between rounds of Calling Sao Paulo, Day 1, we had it confirmed that we will be receiving Gem Pack 5 in time for Omens of the Third Age.

Gem Pack 5

The stunning blue/purple packs will be available at LGS' across the world from when Omens drops. Gem Pack 5 features the same extended art, or clear text box treatment in some of the most sought after cards coming in Omens.

Ward 2 on a Red Aura that amps Aphrodias and provides the resource to use it is very powerful.

New Oscilio will be able to get multiple activations of new Volzar thanks to this Constella Uplift card.

Path of Same Ends will likely always have Go Again, either with the on board activation, or simply by the opponent disrespecting the ping. Them giving 2 cards to cover this is such a bad value proposition that I can see this being present in almost every Aurora build.

This new card intrigues me. Being able to Opt on attacks, while also covering 3 makes this a great target for Razor Reflex or some other Go Again effect, especially if this will end up being Silver Age legal.

We're seeing them keep up the trend of reprinting a Mechanologist staple in stunning Cold Foil. While Clamp Press may not have always been the best hit from previous Gem Packs, Boom Grenade and Backup Protocol: RED certainly are.

Teklo Pounder the aggro power house in Cold Foil will be something I can see the many Mechanologists in my area deeply searching for.

Gem Packs have recently been taking to reprinting Legendary Equipment with new art and a gorgeous finish. Gem Pack 3 gave us Rampart of the Ram's Head and Gem Pack 4 gave us crown of Dominion in the antiquity border.

With Runeblade returning to the metagame, we're seeing a welcome reprint of Dyadic Carapace. Given that all the heroes in Omens are looking to deal both Physical and Arcane damage, having an equipment piece that can cover both damage types is very welcome.

Wrap Up

Collectors of shiny things can rejoice at the return of a brand new Gem Pack coming to your LGS when Omens drops at the start of June.
