Pro Quest 2026 Week 1 Wrap Up

Pro Quest 2026 Week 1 has kicked off in earnest, all with the chance for players to earn their spot at Pro Tour Vegas later this year. This 5 week Season is split across two formats of play, and these first 2 weeks are Silver Age.

While in my native London England, there was only 1 Silver Age event in this format, it is still chock full of performance data for us to consider.

Pro Quest 2026 Week 1

If there was any doubt about the overall strength of the top decks in the metagame, it's no longer something to dispute. There's two clear, aggressive forerunners in the format.

Briar

After that initial win in World Tour London, Briar has continued to go from strength to strength. The split aggression of incidental Arcane and highly efficient 0 for 4 Go Again attacks all makes Briar a deeply potent aggro deck.

Briar's win rate may be higher at the local level compared to the many copies of Kano taking out other tier 3 events. Players who are newer to FaB may not be as used to how the original Elemental Runeblade plays. She also has an immense cult following of former mains getting their personal favourite back, and at close to full power.

Kayo

After my initial comments about the format, it's a surprise to see a whopping 40 wins for the one armed Brute. Kayo has always been incredibly consistent at producing absurd, damage, that can often be considered above rate.

The Brute staples such as Wild Ride and Bare Fangs are welcome deck inclusions for every Brute gamer during Pro Quest 2026 Week 1. The new card Skera Strapping also does wonders at shoring up the deck's Wizard matchup. It's worth seeing where the divergent deck building can come going into Week 2 and future high level Silver Age events.

Dorinthea

Despite making it only to second place, the break out deck of World Tour London was definitely Dorinthea with Decimator Great Axe. The deck is the pinnacle of Fatigue by Damage. Presenting so many tall, hard to block attacks, that the defending deck wastes cards blocking instead of trying to push back.

The drop off in win rate between Briar, Kayo, and the other decks is dramatic. Decimator Dorinthea takes a great deal of pilot skill, as it's not merely as simple as block 9, send 4 every turn cycle. It's because of that, decks that can pressure in ways that Dorinthea cannot match (namely the fast aggro of the two winningest decks and the arcane of Kano) would do well into this style of Warrior deck.

Kano

The Wizard deck will always be a force to consider in any metagame. We've seen Kano being piloted to a masterful degree on coverage during San Diego, but at the local level, it's fair to say that most Kano players aren't as good as Jacob Clements. This would add up to the drop off in the Wizard's win rate, however the deck's overall power cannot be understated or disrespected.

Wrap Up

We've seen other decks have reasonable results during Pro Quest Week 1. Ira, Crimson Haze likely had a good conversion to top 8. Alternate versions of Decimator Great Axe decks and Fatigue Oldhim.

There is still a lot of evolution to be had with the Silver Age metagame, and aside from Briar, it's so hard to guess which decks the player base will bench in a few month's time.
